Out of School Hours Care Parent Handbook

Out of Hours School Care

Aberfeldie Primary School has an Out of Hours Program which runs before and after school. The Before School Program will commence at 7:15 am and finish at 8:45 am on school days. This is a 30 place program. The After School Program will commence at 3:30 pm and finish at 6:00 pm on school days. This is a 60 place program. The Out of Hours School Program also operates on pupil free days between 7:45 am and 6:00 pm (subject to demand).

In Before Care breakfast is included and in the After Care program a variety of healthy snacks and drinks are provided. We provide a variety of activities for the children to participate in. Our weekly program is advertised in the school bulletin.

Enrolment

An enrolment form must be completed and signed by the Parent/Legal Guardian before children attend the programs. Please list two emergency contact numbers. If you have sole custody of the child/ren it is a legal requirement that a custody order be kept on our records. If any information on the form changes, we request that Staff receive written confirmation of these changes. In order to guarantee your child/ren a position and give staff an indication of attendance, it is necessary to submit an enrolment form by the end of the 1st week of term.

Fees are: (at time of printing)

Before School Care – (1½ hours)
Per child, per session - $8.00

After School Care – (2½ hours)
Per child per session - $10.00

Pupil Free Days - $16.00 per day

Please notify the Coordinator if a child is to be absent on a day when attendance is expected.
The program will follow the School Sunsmart Policy as well as the “Discipline Policy”.

Permanent Bookings

  1. The coordinator must be notified by phone (9331 0326), letter or in person, of cancellation prior to 6:00 pm of the previous day. Failure to comply will result in a non attendance fee of $4.00 being charged. This is common practice for most care programs.
  2. If a child is ill and will be absent from school, the After Care coordinator needs to be notified by 8:00 am or the non attendance fee will be charged.


Casual Bookings

  1. A prior booking of 24 hours will apply to avoid the risk of a place not being available. Bookings must be made directly with After Care staff. Payment for casual attendance should be made on the same day.

Late fees of $1.00 per minute will apply after 6.00 pm.
